Empowering Youth to Reach for Their Dreams
This story is told primarily through the eyes of two young
people who attend Malcolm X Academy, a predominately Black School Fifth-Grader
Bruce Bostuba lives in the neighborhood with his mom & is the only white student in
the school He has discovered that people are the same no matter their race
Matthew Weaver shares his experiences at Malcom X • He recounts
the days when going to or leaving school was met with gun shots
and angry racial slurs • Yet, amidst this chaotic environment,
the documentary reveals young people who are working & learning
together & exchanging fear and hatred for understanding,
friendship, & hope.
