The
Drawing Game |
|
 |
The Drawing Game is
a unique activity you can do with your child (3 to 14 years old.)
who is disturbed about something or simply for fun. For older
children, simply having them sketch something will suffice. The goal
of the game is to draw several items that are dear to a child. After
they have finished their drawings point out to them all the good
memories they had inside of them, how skilled they are and the good
qualities that they have. It is necessary that you participate in
the activity so that the child knows that you are not just trying to
keep him or her occupied. Doing the activity with the child is a
great way for you to bond with your child, is very therapeutic for
angry persons, and is a great stress reliever. Here are some ideas
of things that might be dear to a child.
1) Have
your child draw his or her name. Since children love themselves,
drawing their name is one way to help build the self esteem of a
child. Draw yours while they do theirs.
2) Have
your child draw family members.
3) Have
your child draw an event that was special to him or her like a day he
or she went to a park or a beach.
4) Have
your child draw what it feels like to be happy.
You as a parent know
your child best and should improvise where necessary.
